Luxury Week in NYC

In an effort to prevent a 'don't' picture winding up on the back page of a sub-par fashion magazine, I will refrain from wearing my pajamas in public this week. Nobody is exactly following me around with a camera (are you as surprised as I am?) but there are a plethora of 'street style photographers' (read: out of work 20 somethings with an iPhone) swarming, SWARMING our fair streets right now.

 FASHION WEEK IS UPON US.

Am I in a better mood in February and September? Do my cheeks flush and my skin glow?
Is it because I started slathering my face with avocado oil?
Probably, but have I mentioned I love Fashion Week?

PS. Iris needs a Jemma Wynne bangle to complete that wrist game. Just sayin'

I need this watch to tie in all of my new turquoise Jemma Wynne ish. I also need the stainless steel part of the band to go away. Insert shameless Jemma Wynne plug here. Also, insert money into my bank account for watch noted below.

Is it Spring yet? Because this bitch looks super happy to be showing off her Kenzo sweatshirt, whilst mine is hidden underneath a down coat because it's -76 degrees kelvin. First world problems.

Obsessions: One Healthy, One Expensive

Current loves include skiing in my Chanel for Land's End parka and Bulgari/Van Cleef.

One love is burning cals and the other is burning a hole in my, already laughable, savings account. I've entertained both this week and purchased my first Bulgari piece and booked a ski trip to Wyndham for Saturday. I can justify jewels just as much as trips because, while Wyndham will be super fun for a few hours, my new Tuboga will give me years of delight and joy. Ideally, I'd be consistently vacationing whilst staring at my jewels in joy, but c'est la vie, I digress, etc.

My next acquisition, that I can neither afford nor deserve, will be a Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra bracelet in malachite or lapis. See below, duh.

This is my future wrist, like, just digging into my Birkin

I feel like this isn't a gluttonous treat because I'm Irish and it looks like shamrocks. So, it's really, like, a tribute to my ancestors and is actually really sweet and not selfish at all. Obviously.

Le Weekend

Going upstate to ski. Will, basically, look exactly like this

And be wearing all this

Sike. Pray for me and my pathetic Land's End parka.

GG & NE sittin' in a tree

So. This Happened.

and I forgot to tell y'all.

Check out this gem

On another note...with all the gun talk lately, I just want to say one thing. If all you freaks and your mumbo jumbo make me feel like I need to start packing heat, mine will be Chanel.

Good day.

GO(L)D is good.

I'm not so much having a yellow gold moment, as a yellow gold life

Also, doing a lot of thinking about yellow gold wedding jewelry.

I live for yellow gold and the moments (every 6 months or so, like clockwork) is becomes en vogue to wear again, I fluctuate between horror (my secret it out!) and happiness to be a current tribe member. Not unlike my daily emotional roller coaster, in any case.
It is no coincidence that the bulk of jewels left for me, upon the early demise of my chic grandmothers, are yellow gold. Why isn't yellow gold, nowadays, considered a 'forever metal?'
I'm not trying to dissuade anybody of their choice of marriage metal (yours truly is the very proud owner of white gold wedding jewelry), but I do wonder if my choice was my own...or an era based decision?

Why is the choice to have a yellow gold engagement ring now considered edgy or unique, when it is the most classic choice of all? Cleopatra wasn't exactly wearing white gold, ya heard?

Bangles are the New Everything

I'm the first to admit that bangles are a tough sell. Jemma Wynne has perfected the bangle (oval shape, comfortable, flexible fit, doesn't jangle like an asshole while I'm typing) Basically, anyway you can 'fix' a bangle woe, they've done it, and done it well. The JW love doesn't lie.
Rings are personal, earrings are typical, necklaces fall in both categories. Bangle bracelets, my favorite bijoux category are often lost in the shuffle. The last piece to be gifted, the first edited out of a stylist's shoot. resigned to the 'fun'  or 'costume' (barf) genre.

The bangle. The Susan Lucci of fine jewelry.

So, you see, no human was happier than I when the bangle received so much love at the GGs on Sunday. I'm calling this trend for 2013 now and I'm standing behind it. Get acquainted with a few of my favorite stackers from the Globe's Red Carpet and get used to seeing a lot more babes in bangles.

Best Dressed at the Pony Show

I know the Critic's Choice Awards were last week, but nobody cares.

Awards Season, yes I capitalized it, kicked off last night with the Golden Globes. Historically, it isn't exactly a critically acclaimed event, but I love seeing the movie stars and TV peeps co-mingle in a hilarious melting pot of Couture and Topshop. Seeing a producer from The Amazing Race standing next to Naomi Watts makes me feel good about myself. Sue me. It is generally quite obvious who is on a television show and who is a movie star, and I love that the Golden Globes are one of our only opportunities to see them side by side.  That being said, my choice for Best Dressed will surprise you. But, whatever, the channel is Masterpiece Theatre.  This bitch isn't exactly on Bravo.

Michelle Dockery

effortless. perfect. British.

Here are some of my favorite looks from Michelle, starting with last night. Obviously, I must note her jewelry choices were exquisite and I'm going to give her best bling, too. This may be by default, simply based on the lack of amazing, unique jewelry on the red carpet. PER USUAL.

Golden Globes 2013 in Alexandre Vauthier
reppin' the Frenchies
Killing it with the 'I always look over my shoulder like this' pose.

 Thanks for the pics, Perez.

BANGLES are what's up jemmawynne.com y'all

Lady Mary's wedding look makes me want to burn my wedding photos. C'est la vie.

Another huge bling piece, on the fashion finger.

In Louis Vuitton at the Emmy's last year.
Girl, I don't even care about those wrinkles, but someone should be fired as hell. Letting your ass walk the red carpet like a hot mess who never heard of a damn steamer. damn.

Ralph Lauren at a PBS event. Just exuding general babe-ery.

Just being a babe somewhere else.

The End.
